    Level/Salary Range: $15 - $25 per hour                

    Reports To: Administrative assistant or Owner/Sekenah Tennison

    Job Overview:  The position requires working closely with people with disabilities. Responsibilities include direct instruction of workers, teaching employment and job search skills, assessing skills and interests, writing evaluations, and instruction on gaining and maintaining employment. The position requires exceptional “people skills,” teaching experience, and at least two years of experience supporting people with disabilities in jobs or community settings. A solid understanding of the local labor market is desired. Strong research skills and knowledge of job search strategies and business needs are helpful. The position requires exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal—knowledge of disability-related issues.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    Teaching program participants to be as independent as possible.

    Work collaboratively with job coaches and job developers.

    Assist job seekers in exploring educational and employment opportunities.

    Assist program participants in learning new skills/tasks.

    Supplement work-based learning opportunities.

    Facilitate and support program participants’ integration in connecting the employment training program and work-based learning.

    Encourage and promote excellent working relationships among participants towards employers.

    Monitor progress and prepare reports detailing activities, progress, and future service needs.

    Work cooperatively with others involved in a person’s life (i.e. families, job coaches, job developers).

    Qualities:

    To be a great Employment Trainer, you must have these qualities:

    -Strong communication skills, verbal and written

    -Exceptional teaching and organizational skills

    -Knowledge of the city’s resources and strong research skills

    -Ability to represent program participants and program services in a professional manner

    -Familiar with disability-related issues, services/resources, accommodations, and assistive technology

    -Proficient computer skills

    Qualifications:

    -Some teaching or training experience

    -18 years or older

    -Valid driver's license

    -Must be able to pass all required background checks.

    -Six months of experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.

    -Employment Specialist Certification is desired, optional.

    Job Overview: A Job Coach works with individuals with disabilities at their job site to help them build the skills necessary to become independent at their job. Job Coaching services are provided based on the individuals’ work schedules and arranged with the employer. Work is typically part-time, and hours are sometimes flexible depending on the number of job coaches available.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    -Teaching clients with disabilities how to use-job related tools, instruments, and equipment

    -Support individuals with disabilities to complete tasks at the work site.

    -Understanding how to implement or request reasonable accommodations.

    -Confirming that workers are (Motivated) demonstrating a desire to work.

    -Confirming that workers are (Reliable) showing up to work on time.

    -Confirming that workers are (Dependable), doing the work they were hired for.

    -Working with employers and workers to manage conflicts.

    -Helping workers address transportation issues to maintain employment.

    Qualities:

    To be a great Job Coach, you must have these qualities:

    -Problem-solving skills

    Qualifications:

    Job Overview: The Job Developer focuses on placing job seekers into sustainable employment. The Job Developer will establish and maintain working relationships with employers, industry organizers, community partners, and education providers to secure employment and training opportunities. In addition, the Job Developer will work directly with job seekers to meet placement goals. It is the Job Developer’s responsibility to evaluate job seekers’ skills and job interests in matching potential job openings. The target population is individuals seeking employment services who have significant barriers to employment due to disability.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    -Work with employers, staffing agencies industry organizers, and government programs

    -Collaborative with employment coordinators to place clients in jobs

    -Recruit employers for the program

    -Coordinate and organize employer recognition program

    -Coordinate, organize, and participate in quarterly job fairs

    -Coordinate and participate in work-readiness workshops

    -Build rapport with community partners

    -Build relationships with workers with disabilities

    -Participate and attend regional chamber events

    -Participate in professional association network mixers

    -Attend public speaking engagements, outreach events, job fairs, and partner events

    -Assess client skills and abilities to effectively job match

    -Knowledge of skills such as resume writing, interview techniques, and mock interviews

    -Participate in weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings

    -Track monthly outcomes and outreach activities

    Qualities:
